I'm thinking about traveling to Puerto Vallarta in July, but I hear that's the rainy season. Has anyone else been during the rainy months? Is this a good time to go?? What should I do? Any advice is appreciated.

Yeah it is actually rainy season anywhere in Mexico but you can certainly get some sunny days as well , The heart of the rainy season is in fact August and it usually rains during the evening 7night or early morning it doesn´t feel cold at all it just gets humid so your hair most likely will give you troble lol, If you go buy what they call "raspados" quite good cheap and thirst relievers it is kindda a sorbet lol it is quite a safe place ppl are warm and helpful one can enjoy walking at night along "El malecon" the board walk, from there you can go to El cañon de cobre which is a nature wonder (copper canyon) you need to get a tour to go there it is advisable, you may still be able to see wild dolphins as a matter of fact they stay there from spring until early winter. =)

We stopped in Puerta Vallarta on a cruise stop and I really didn't like the place. It is no where near as nice in my opinion as Cabo St Lucus, or Cancun. It does not have the nice beaches these others do and no where near the activities that Cancun has. Whether it rained or not I would not want to go back there for free.
